Vinturi

 

How does it work?

Bernoulli's principle states that as the speed of a moving fluid increases, the pressure within the fluid decreases.

When wine is poured in the vinturi, its design creates an increase in the wine's velocity and a decrease in its pressure. This pressure difference draws in air, which is mixed with wine for perfect aeration.

 

How does it compare with mechanical and drip type aerators?

The Vinturi performs as good or better than the various battery operated aerators without the hassle or the mess. Drip style aerators do an adequate job for aeration, but the Vinturi is still superior in both amount of aeration as well as overall speed. The drip process can be very slow and messy.

 

Do I have to aerate my entire bottle?

Absolutely NOT! Open your favorite bottle, pour a glass through the Vinturi and seal the bottle immediately following.

 

Will this work for anything else?

YES! This is a fantastic process for spirits as well - specifically Scotch, Brandy, and Cognac. Aeration has a similar effect as it has with wine.: Better bouquet, Enhanced favours, and a Smoother finish.
